Jeff Perrotti is the founding director of the Safe Schools Program for LGBTQ Students, a collaboration of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and the Massachusetts Commission on LGBTQ Youth. He is the co-author with Kim Westheimer of the book, When the Drama Club is not Enough.
Jeff is the recipient of several awards, including the Distinguished Service Award from the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents, the Michael J. Kane Friend of Education Award from the Massachusetts School Administrators’ Association, the Michael J. Kane Wellness Award from the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association, and the Leadership in Suicide Prevention Award from the Massachusetts Coalition for Suicide Prevention.
Jeff teaches and advises students at Harvard University, and his work has been featured on ESPN, Italian Rai International Radio, 20/20 with Anderson Cooper, and in the New York Times, Boston Globe, Boston Herald, and Harvard Ed. Magazine. Jeff consults on Italian genealogy, school climate, positive psychology, and resilience.
